Getting THE STORY

... and unlock the secrets behind closed doors.

My job is to cut through misunderstandings (my own included), and find the core of the story.

Then

I bring together the words, images and people who will grab the viewers’s attention.

Finally, I deliver this story to the audience.

doesn’t matter…

…if it's a tweet or a book, an Instagram-post or a 1:30 hit on national TV, my skill is finding the story that matters — and getting it seen.

Getting the facts by listening

some people have trouble talking about the awkward stuff

If you don't listen carefully and follow up, that person may just turn to styrofoam.

But, follow their cues, and that person will often reveal amazing secrets.

listen for hints

They may say something like:
"...after the accident...", or "When I was in New Orleans..."

Your job is to pick up on that hint and say:
"What accident?", or "When were you in New Orleans?"

ignore them … and you may lose the key to the story

If it’s something hard to talk about, odds are you won’t get a second chance.
